ST. Francis Xavier Igalogba Parish

FRANCIS XAVIER PARISH IGALOGBA – IDAH

The desire to worship God and the zeal for evangelization on the soil of Omepa (Igalogba) was kindled in February, 1996. Some special families of goodwill introduced daily prayers in one of the classrooms of the LGEA Primary School, which has grown to the big Christian Territory we have today.

The daily prayer venue later metamorphosed to daily morning services and some special days for masses, except Sundays when they would necessarily attend Mass at the Cathedral of St. Boniface.

The practice continue until the end of 1996 when arrangements were formally made for Priests to began monthly masses on Sunday, while other Sundays within the month were anchored by the Church Leaders of Prayer.

In 2005 Bishop E.S. OBOT of Blessed Memory announced it a Quasi Parish, which was later elevated to the status of a full Parish on Sunday 14th JUNE 2015 by his Excellency, Most Rev. Dr. Anthony Ademu ADAJI (MSP), the Catholic Bishop of Idah Diocese.
